Bengaluru's ORR Infrastructure Woes Prompt Major Corporate Exodus

In a move that underscores serious infrastructural challenges, online trucking platform BlackBuck has announced its decision to relocate from Bellandur, on Bengaluru's Outer Ring Road (ORR). The company cited severe road and commuting issues as the primary reasons behind this strategic exit.
The ORR, a crucial corridor for the city's bustling IT sector, frequently suffers from notorious traffic jams, much to the frustration of commuters. Reacting to BlackBuck's decision, former Infosys CFO Mohandas Pai labeled it a significant governance failure and urged Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and other governmental figures to step in and address the crisis.
Echoing similar sentiments, Biocon Chairperson Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw emphasized the need for emergency measures by contacting Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar. Meanwhile, plans for improved infrastructure are in place, with Rs 1,100 crore allocated for road repairs and construction in Bengaluru, according to Deputy CM Shivakumar's recent announcement.
