A catastrophic landslide and flooding in Chamoli's Nandanagar district following torrential rains on Thursday have left ten people missing. The affected areas are already grappling with ongoing land subsidence, which further complicates rescue efforts.

Eight individuals, including four members of one family, went missing in Kuntari village, and two more are unaccounted for in Dhurma, where the Moksha river floodwaters damaged multiple buildings. Chamoli District Magistrate Sandeep Tiwari confirmed these incidents.

Rescue operations face significant hurdles, hampered by debris-blocked roads and swampy conditions. Local teams, assisted by state and national disaster response forces, continue their search, while injured victims await airlift due to the impassable roads.
