Tragedy struck at Mukkha Fall in Uttar Pradesh's Sonbhadra district as three people are feared drowned in two separate incidents, police reported on Monday.

On Sunday, Buddhu Baiga, a resident of Maruwat village, informed police that his brother, Shriram, 45, was returning from Parsiya with locals when he went for a bath at Mukkha Fall and was swept away by strong currents, according to Ghorawal SHO Shiv Pratap Verma.

In a separate incident, a picnic outing turned tragic for four youths from Robertsganj. Sitting on a mound surrounded by water, the sudden opening of dam gates led to an influx of water, sweeping away Rahul Patel and Indrajit Patel, both 21 and residents of Nai Bazar, Verma stated. Search operations are underway with police, divers, and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF).
