Fijian rugby player, Josaia Raisuqe, has tragically passed away in a road accident in France, according to his club, Castres, who compete in the Top 14 league.

A statement from the club expressed their profound grief, emphasizing Raisuqe's role as a much-appreciated teammate. President Pierre-Yves Revol described him as a radiant influence on both the field and within the Fijian community at the club.

Raisuqe had been part of Fiji's sevens team that won silver at the Paris Olympics in 2022 and joined Castres in 2021. The upcoming match between Castres and Clermont Auvergne has been postponed in honor of Raisuqe's memory.
