The struggling Lucknow Super Giants are poised for a significant boost as Australian powerhouse Josh Inglis is likely to join their squad for the Indian Premier League (IPL) face-off against the Mumbai Indians, scheduled for May 4. Having tied the knot on April 18, the 31-year-old Inglis initially skipped the season's first half but is now set to bring his dynamic batting skills to the team.
Despite his unavailability earlier, Inglis was secured for a hefty Rs 8.6 crore. The batter is expected to participate in the final six matches of the season, commencing with the highly anticipated clash against the Mumbai Indians. The Lucknow team, captained by Rishabh Pant, is in dire need of a turnaround, currently languishing at the eighth spot on the points table after three consecutive losses.
Last season, Josh Inglis showcased his prowess with Punjab Kings, scoring 278 runs at a striking rate of 162.57. After being released from the squad, his anticipated return could inject much-needed vitality into the Lucknow Super Giants as they prepare to face the Rajasthan Royals at home on April 22.
