Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday officially opened a 150-feet long Bailey bridge on the Ramban-Gool road in Jammu. This development significantly enhances regional connectivity.
The engineering troops of the White Knight Corps collaborated with the National Highway Authority of India and civil authorities to complete this structural project. The bridge, situated in the Metra region of Ramban district, is a double-storey, extra-wide design.
In a statement, LG Sinha described the bridge as a symbol of hope and a crucial link for approximately 1.5 lakh residents in the Ramban, Sangaldan, and Gool areas. Despite recent natural disasters that affected livelihoods and infrastructure, the military engineers worked under strenuous conditions to construct this bridge, exemplifying their commitment and service.
The Defence Public Relations Officer in Jammu highlighted the disruption caused by relentless rainfall, which severely affected the Karol-Maitra Road in Ramban, Reasi. The newly inaugurated bridge reinstates vital connections, facilitating the efficient transport of essential goods and services.
