On Friday evening, a fire erupted in a goods train transporting coal as it traveled through Kesinga in Odisha's Sambalpur Division. Officials reported the fire was first spotted at approximately 7:15 pm and, crucially, did not result in any injuries or fatalities.
Following the alert, railway personnel swiftly enacted emergency response procedures and notified local authorities. By 8:15 pm, the train reached Titlagarh railway station, where firefighters quickly engaged in containing and extinguishing the blaze. Initial reports indicate that five wagons were directly impacted by the fire.
Authorities, including senior railway officials, remained on site to oversee the ongoing situation. The incident did not disrupt passenger train services within the Sambalpur Division, indicating the effectiveness of the emergency measures taken.
