The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), in partnership with MyGov.in, has introduced a nationwide 'Swachh Bharat Quiz' for school students in honor of Gandhi Jayanti, according to officials. Accompanying the quiz, schools are set to initiate readings from Mahatma Gandhi's autobiography, 'The Story of My Experiments with Truth', with subsequent reflection sessions conducted by class teachers.
'The prime aim of the quiz is to deeply involve students with Gandhian principles and the ethos of Swachh Bharat. It's about embedding these teachings into their everyday lives,' explained CISCE Chief Executive and Secretary, Joseph Emmanuel. The online quiz, available on the MyGov.in platform, runs from October 2 to 15, offering a prize pool of Rs 30,000 with top individual prizes of Rs 7,000, Rs 5,000, and Rs 3,000.
Partaking students will receive an e-certificate jointly issued by CISCE and MyGov.in. Open to all Indian students from class VI and up, the quiz aims to enhance awareness on cleanliness and health, while underscoring the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan's progress. Emmanuel stressed the importance of nurturing a generation mindful of personal and communal duties. Furthermore, CISCE-affiliated schools are tasked with organizing cleanliness and community service activities, especially for senior students, with the goal of collectively dedicating over one million service hours.
