Monica Barbaro is set to headline 'Artificial', directed by acclaimed filmmaker Luca Guadagnino for Amazon MGM Studios, according to Variety. The film, a comedic drama centered on artificial intelligence, features a stellar cast including Andrew Garfield, Yura Borisov, and Jason Schwartzman.

Set within the high-stakes world of OpenAI, the narrative delves into the dramatic events of 2023, where CEO Sam Altman faced a brief and controversial ouster before his swift reinstatement. Garfield is cast as Altman, while Barbaro assumes the role of Mira Murati, the chief technology officer. Borisov portrays Ilya Sutskever, a pivotal co-founder.

Behind the scenes, David Heyman and Jeffrey Clifford are producing the film, with a script penned by Simon Rich. Production is slated to commence later this year. Barbaro's recent work includes starring alongside Timothee Chalamet in 'A Complete Unknown', a biopic of Bob Dylan released last December.
