The Indian Army will host a thrilling drone competition, Surya Dronathon 2025, in collaboration with the Drone Federation of India. The event, slated to take place in scenic Sumdo village located in the Spiti Valley, aims to foster innovation in the defense sector, echoing the Atmanirbhar Bharat vision.
Scheduled across two phases—August 10-15 and August 20-24—this event will see participants from across the country navigating one of India's highest drone obstacle courses. The competition will occur at a staggering altitude of 10,700 feet, testing the endurance and skill of participants across various categories, including open, service team, and freelancer divisions.
The joint initiative between the Surya Command of the Indian Army and drone enthusiasts promises to be a platform for innovation, creativity, and technical expertise in drone technology. Interested participants have until August 1 to register online for this prestigious event.
