Amit Shah Lays Foundation for Janki Mandir Redevelopment in Bihar
Union Home Minister Amit Shah laid the foundation stone for the redevelopment of Janki Mandir at Punauradham in Bihar, considered the birthplace of Goddess Sita. The project, valued at over Rs 882.87 crore, aims to enhance tourism and includes comprehensive maintenance for a decade.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday initiated the redevelopment project of Janki Mandir in Bihar's Sitamarhi district, which is regarded as the birthplace of Goddess Sita.
The project's foundation stone-laying ceremony, with an investment of Rs 882.87 crore, was attended by Bihar's Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, and other dignitaries. Shah also inaugurated the Sitamarhi-Delhi Amrit Bharat Express train virtually.
Informed sources stated that Rs 137 crore will be dedicated to upgrading the old temple and its premises, and Rs 728 crore to tourism-related activities. The project execution falls under the purview of the Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation.
