Cultural Treasures: E-Auction of Modi's Iconic Gifts Backs Ganga Rejuvenation

An e-auction featuring over 1,300 unique gifts presented to Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to begin on his 75th birthday. Among the prized items are a statue of Goddess Bhavani and sports memorabilia from the 2024 Paralympic Games, reflecting India's rich cultural diversity.
This marks the seventh edition of the Prime Minister's Mementoes e-auction, which will be held online until October 2, showcasing traditional art, handicrafts, and ceremonial gifts from across the nation. The event was announced by Union Culture Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat at the National Gallery of Modern Art.
Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Namami Gange project, a government initiative focused on rejuvenating and protecting the Ganga river. Since its inception in 2019, the auction has raised over Rs 50 crore for the cause, inviting citizens to own a piece of history while contributing to a noble mission.
