Chief Minister M K Stalin emphasized the significance of these excavations in shedding light on the submerged treasures of Tamil heritage, describing Poompuhar's potential revelation as a counterpart to the Keezhadi site findings.
The efforts, led by a team of experts and supported by Finance Minister Thangam Thennarasu, aim to document the archaeological remains and further explore Tamil Nadu's rich maritime history, once connected to Southeast Asia.
