A tragic accident claimed the lives of two women workers in Neyyattinkara when a coconut tree uprooted and fell on them. Identified as Vasantha, 65, and Chandrika, 64, they were working under the MGNREGA scheme.
The unfortunate incident happened as the women rested post-lunch during their work hours. Rushed to the hospital, medical staff could not save them.
Two other individuals were injured in the incident and have been admitted for medical treatment at a local hospital.
