Kamal Haasan Campaigns in Tiruchirapalli, Challenges Vijay's Claim to MGR Legacy
Actor Kamal Haasan campaigned for DMK in Tiruchirapalli, subtly criticizing Vijay's claims of being MGR's successor. Despite sitting on the laps of MGR and Shivaji Ganesan in his youth, Haasan stated he never exploited those connections. He urged the youth to learn their history and support DMK's 'Rising Sun'.
Actor and MNM chief Kamal Haasan delivered a sharp critique against fellow actor-politician Vijay while campaigning for DMK candidate Inigo S Irudayaraj in Tiruchirapalli. Emphasizing his own childhood connections with cinematic legends M G Ramachandran and Shivaji Ganesan, Haasan claimed he never used his relationships for political gain, drawing a clear contrast with Vijay's political theatrics.
Haasan, leading a rally through the constituency, called on voters to support the 'Rising Sun'—DMK's political symbol. He highlighted his personal ethics and discipline, attributing them to the influential figures in his life, and urged voters to educate young people on the DMK's storied history and contributions.
Defending his capabilities to attract crowds, Haasan referenced a massive event in Coimbatore, attended by 1.5 lakh supporters, to counteract Vijay's perceived popularity on the campaign trail. His speech resonated strongly with local sentiments, advocating for informed voting with historical awareness.
