As tensions between India and Pakistan intensify, retired Additional Director General of Police Gurinder Singh Dhillon praised the Indian armed forces for what he described as a commendable response to cross-border terrorism. Dhillon highlighted the targeted destruction of nine terrorist sites and urged border residents to maintain calm.
Dhillon emphasized confidence in India's security forces, remarking on Pakistan's limited retaliatory capabilities. In New Delhi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah convened a high-level meeting to review border security, involving top officials like the Director General of BSF, CISF, and senior Home Affairs officers.
In response, the Punjab government ramped up preparedness measures. A statement from the Chief Minister's Office outlined plans for cabinet ministers to inspect border districts, reviewing vital services like hospitals and fire stations. District officials in Amritsar urged locals to stay indoors amid heightened security concerns.
Adding to the tensions, Indian defense sources confirmed the interception of two Pakistani drones in the Naushera sector of Jammu and Kashmir during artillery exchanges, underscoring the fragile state of the region's security dynamics.
