Tragedy in Chhattisgarh: Fatal Road Accident Sparks Nationwide Grief and Urgent Calls for Action

A tragic road accident in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, has taken the lives of 13 individuals, including women and children, and left 14 others injured. President Droupadi Murmu expressed her deepest condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the swift recovery of those hurt.

The collision occurred near Saragaon on the Raipur-Balodabazar Road when a truck collided with a trailer. Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao described it as a tragic incident, promising an investigation and assuring that strict action would be taken against those found responsible. Assistance for the affected families is also pledged.

Expressing concern over the increasing road accidents, Congress leader Bhupesh Baghel urged the government to address the issue seriously and provide ex gratia for the victims' families. Former CM Baghel stressed the need for practical solutions to prevent future mishaps, highlighting that 23 individuals have died in various accidents within a short span.
