Historic Kailash Mansarovar Yatra Resumes: A Journey of Faith and International Unity

The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, revered for its spiritual significance among Hindu, Buddhist, and Jain communities, has resumed post a five-year hiatus. The first group of 33 pilgrims, accompanied by two escorts and a doctor, was ceremoniously flagged off from Sikkim's Nathula Pass by Governor Om Prakash Mathur on Friday.
Governor Mathur highlighted the resumption of this historic journey as a testament to international friendship and the revival of India's spiritual traditions. He acknowledged Prime Minister Narendra Modi's role in reinstating the yatra, emphasizing its importance to Sikkim's identity and heritage.
Pilgrims reported excellent arrangements and hospitable conditions curated by the Indo-Tibetan Border Police and Sikkim's Tourism Department, ensuring a seamless experience despite high-altitude challenges. The Ministry of External Affairs coordinated efforts for a smooth transition across the border, allowing pilgrims to continue their sacred journey into China.
