Samajwadi Party MP Dimple Yadav criticized BJP leaders for choosing to protest over a cleric's misogynistic remark rather than addressing the pressing Manipur incident. Speaking to reporters outside Parliament, Yadav emphasized the need for showing solidarity with the women of Manipur during the social media backlash.
Earlier, NDA MPs staged a protest against Moulana Sajid Rashidi, AIIA President, over his controversial comments about Yadav's visit to a Delhi mosque. Rashidi defended his position, highlighting his objections were rooted in Islamic practices rather than personal animosity.
Rashidi further claimed he faced threats for his statements, highlighting a tension between religious beliefs and political discourse. He argued that his comments have been misconstrued, asserting that he is being targeted solely for his religious adherence.
