In a heart-wrenching incident, a woman and her two-year-old daughter reportedly died by suicide through self-immolation in Simaria Tal village, Gwalior district, Madhya Pradesh, late Wednesday. The incident, reported Thursday by police officials, occurred under the jurisdiction of Dabra police station.
According to City Superintendent of Police Robin Jain, Manisha Baghel had a significant altercation with her husband earlier on Wednesday. With no family present, she allegedly set herself and her child on fire using diesel. Neighbors, upon noticing the flames, immediately alerted the authorities. Despite prompt police response, both victims succumbed to severe burns.
Authorities are pursuing a thorough investigation, exploring various leads and recording testimonies of involved parties. Critical evidence, including a mobile phone, has been sent for forensic analysis, and the police await expert insights as they continue their probe.
