The Indian Army has swiftly restored a crucial road connection in Ramban by launching the 150-foot reinforced Maitra Bridge, ensuring continuity in daily life after severe rainfall washed away a key section of the Karol-Maitra Road.
This strategic artery, vital for linking government offices and villages to the mainland, had left locals stranded when inclement weather caused its collapse. Responding to the District Administration's request, the Indian Army, specifically the White Knight Engineers, erected a triple-panel double-storey Bailey Bridge equipped to handle heavy traffic demands.
Assistance in the rapid execution of this restoration came from the Border Roads Organisation, National Highway Authority of India, and local authorities, including the Police Department of Ramban. Alongside infrastructure efforts, humanitarian aid rolled out under the 'Hum Aapke Saath Hain' project, providing relief to over 5,000 residents affected by floods and landslides across several districts in Jammu and Kashmir.
