In a statewide initiative, Haryana's Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi led a meeting to finalize the plans for 'Operation Abhyas,' a civil defence mock drill conducted across all 22 districts. The exercise, scheduled at 4 pm, is designed to enhance emergency preparedness in light of recent security tensions.
The Union Ministry of Home Affairs urged the mock drills amid rising threats following the Pahalgam terror attack. Residents were asked to dim lights briefly as part of the drill, and local authorities were instructed to engage community leaders and issue safety guidance.
Key government and public sector installations will oversee the drills, with the Incident Response System now in effect to streamline communication and coordination. Additional measures include activation of civil defense systems and ensuring trauma centers' readiness, aiming to instill calm and vigilance among Haryana citizens.
