In a comprehensive initiative aimed at assessing emergency readiness, Uttar Pradesh conducted statewide civil defense drills on Wednesday evening under the aegis of 'Operation Abhyas'. The exercise followed recent Indian military operations in response to terror attacks in Pahalgam.
In Lucknow, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath oversaw a large-scale mock drill at the Reserve Police Lines, accompanied by key government officials. The event included various simulations, such as fire outbreaks and building collapses, to evaluate disaster response effectiveness.
Across Uttar Pradesh, drills were held in cities like Meerut, Mathura, and Gautam Buddh Nagar. The initiative aimed to foster public awareness and readiness, educating citizens on emergency protocols through participation from civil defense, police, and educational institutions.
