Stabbing Incident Sparks Legal Battle Over Arrest Legality

In a new twist to the stabbing case involving renowned actor Saif Ali Khan, the accused has filed for the declaration of his arrest as illegal. Mohammad Shariful Islam, a Bangladeshi national, was arrested following the Jan 16 incident.
Islam, currently held in Mumbai's Arthur Road Jail, initially sought bail, but later retracted his plea. His lawyer, Ajay Gawli, presented a new application claiming police misconduct during Islam's apprehension.
The court has requested the police to respond and has scheduled further hearings for May 13. Khan, who endured multiple stab wounds, was discharged after emergency surgery at Lilavati Hospital.
