Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan was officially sworn in as the Chief Justice of the Jharkhand High Court on Wednesday, marking a significant milestone in his distinguished legal career. The oath of office was administered by Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar during a ceremony held at the Raj Bhavan.

This prestigious appointment follows a recommendation by the Supreme Court Collegium, made on May 26, recognizing Justice Chauhan as one of the eminent figures within the Indian judiciary. As a seasoned legal expert, Justice Chauhan was previously the second senior-most judge of the Himachal Pradesh High Court.

The ceremony was attended by notable dignitaries, including Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Speaker of the Jharkhand Assembly Rabindra Nath Mahato, and other key state officials. With a legal career spanning decades, Justice Chauhan initially began his practice in 1989 and has contributed to various legal fields across India.
