Lok Sabha Speaker Denounces 'Street-like' Protests in Parliament

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla condemned opposition members for what he described as 'street-like' protests inside the parliamentary chamber on Wednesday. The remarks were directed at Congress-led members who stormed the well of the House, waving placards to voice their dissent against the special revision of electoral rolls in Bihar.

Birla urged members to act in a manner befitting elected representatives, emphasizing the importance of productive debate and discussion. "You should work in a manner that would make people's lives easier," Birla stated during the Question Hour.

Warning against further unruly behavior, Birla stated that members are not supposed to carry placards, and that he would take decisive action if such acts continued. He concluded by adjourning the proceedings until noon.
