In Pratapgarh district, a firing incident at the registry office has led to the suspension of three policemen for alleged negligence. Pratapgarh SP Anil Kumar took the decision on Monday, aiming to address the serious security lapse.
The incident, which occurred on July 21, left two people injured as they attempted to register a deed at the Patti tehsil registry office. The situation has escalated with a case being registered against six named suspects and several unknown individuals, including block Pramukh Sushil Singh.
In response to the incident, the SP suspended SHO Pankaj Kumar Rai, along with sub-inspectors Baikunthanath Pandey and Santosh Kumar Paswan. Additional Superintendent of Police (East) Shailendra Lal confirmed that departmental action is set to be initiated against the suspended officers.
