A Meerut court has sentenced four individuals, including the deceased's wife, to life in prison for their involvement in the murder of Devendra Kumar in 2013.

The Fast Track Court's Additional District Judge found Rajni, Gaurav Sharma, Veenu Kumhar, and Vipin Tyagi guilty of Kumar's murder. According to government lawyer Sachin Mohan, Kumar had been reported missing by his mother, Ramvati Devi, after failing to return home from his job at a soil testing lab on February 23, 2013.

Fourteen days post the FIR, authorities discovered Kumar's body in a canal, leading to the arrest and eventual conviction of the four accused.
