Tragic Collision: Bus-Truck Incident Claims Lives of Devotees in Deoghar

In a tragic turn of events, six Kanwariyas lost their lives and 29 others were injured in two separate road accidents in Jharkhand's Deoghar. The devotees were onboard a bus that collided with a truck loaded with cooking gas cylinders early Tuesday morning, resulting in six fatalities and numerous injuries, according to officials.

A second accident near Rohini Toll Plaza involved five devotees from Deoria, Uttar Pradesh, who were injured when their car collided with another truck. In light of these incidents, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences, and Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren confirmed relief efforts by local authorities.

The state government has announced financial assistance for victims' families, with additional support from Bihar for their residents affected by the tragedy. Discrepancies on the death toll surfaced, as some reported figures higher than the police's official count, sparking controversy among political figures.
