Rajasthan's New Guard: Gram Rakshaks to Enhance Village Security

The Rajasthan Police Department is recruiting volunteers to serve as Gram Rakshaks, or village guards, in an effort to enhance law enforcement at the local level, a senior official announced on Tuesday.
This honorary and unpaid role will see Gram Rakshaks providing auxiliary support to the police within their communities. Applicants must be local residents aged 40 to 55 and have completed at least eight years of schooling.
Pankaj Chaudhary, superintendent of police and nodal officer for community policing, stated that this initiative intends to strengthen village security and promote better relations between the police and rural communities. Applications are currently open for eligible candidates.
