Justice H N Nagamohan Das has submitted a detailed report to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, focusing on internal reservation for Scheduled Castes in government roles and educational institutions. This extensive 1,766-page report follows a thorough survey involving over 27 million SC households and individuals across the state.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced that the report would be discussed at a cabinet meeting scheduled for August 7. The decision to accept or reject the findings will be deliberated upon, marking a significant step in determining policy directions for SC reservations.
Justice Das, who spearheaded the commission that began on January 1, 2025, highlighted a previous interim report suggesting a fresh survey. This new survey was conducted from May 5 to July 6 after the state cabinet's directive. It is noteworthy that Justice Das carried out his duties without any financial remuneration.
