Self-styled godman Asaram, who was sentenced to life imprisonment in a 2013 rape case, was seen attending a medical check-up at a local hospital this Monday. This comes as per the Rajasthan High Court's directive following the recent extension of his interim bail.

The Jodhpur bench of the Rajasthan High Court extended Asaram's bail till August 29 while demanding a detailed health report by a panel of doctors. This extension is primarily due to his deteriorating health, with a recommendation for bypass surgery by doctors in Indore.

The recent developments follow multiple extensions of temporary bail due to health issues, with the Gujarat High Court previously granting similar relief. The Supreme Court also allowed Asaram the liberty to seek bail extensions on medical grounds, emphasizing the criticality of his condition in an ICU setting.
