The duo allegedly abducted truck driver Prahlad Kumar on Saturday after his vehicle grazed their SUV on the Mulund-Airoli Road.
Navi Mumbai Police successfully rescued the 22-year-old driver from Khedkar's residence just hours later, but were thwarted in their attempts to secure the suspects, with Khedkar's mother, Manorama, further complicating matters. She purportedly blocked police access to the family home in Pune, promising to deliver the accused to authorities but instead disappearing.
Law enforcement officials face a challenging task as they pursue the fugitive family, who vanished with the SUV involved. Manorama's alleged interventions, including setting dogs on the police team, have added layers to the investigation. Authorities have filed a case against her for obstructing justice, while the joint efforts of Pune and Navi Mumbai Police continue.
