In a breakthrough arrest, police have apprehended Omkar Singh, who had been on the run for two years after allegedly abducting and raping a 16-year-old girl in Delhi.
The victim vanished from a village under Gopiganj police station on July 9, 2023. Her mother, after days of searching, filed a complaint leading to the registration of a kidnapping case on July 16, 2023.
Authorities traced Singh to Delhi, where he had been hiding since selling his Shahjahanpur property. Although the girl was rescued last November, Singh eluded capture until Tuesday when police arrested him on a train passing through Gyanpur Road station.
