Authorities in Bareilly have amplified security measures across four districts in preparation for Dussehra amidst heightened tensions. The move follows a recent altercation during a protest over a 'I Love Muhammad' poster, resulting in stone-pelting and confrontations with police.

Divisional Commissioner Bhupendra S Chaudhary issued a high alert for the districts of Bareilly, Shahjahanpur, Pilibhit, and Budaun, instructing law enforcement to be vigilant during festivities, including Ramlila grounds and Durga Puja fairs. ''Failure to maintain order will lead to severe penalties,'' he emphasized, urging meticulous coordination between administrative officials and intelligence agencies.

As officials strive to contain unrest and prevent it from affecting neighboring areas, armed police forces are strategically stationed at potential hotspots. So far, 81 arrests have been made in connection with the September 26 incident, reflecting the seriousness with which authorities are addressing the situation.
