A 43-year-old man from Karnataka was apprehended by police on Friday for allegedly sexually assaulting and impregnating his 13-year-old daughter in Kerala's north district. The family had been residing in the Kanhangad area for several years, police disclosed.
The horrific crime surfaced after the victim was hospitalized with severe back pain revealing her pregnancy, prompting doctors to contact authorities. Despite initially fleeing upon police notification, the father was apprehended while attempting to retrieve documents for an escape abroad.
A case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act has been registered at Hosdurg police station. Following his arrest based on a local tip-off, the man has been placed in judicial custody after being presented in court.
