Major Arms and Cash Haul from Maoist Dumps in Chhattisgarh's Forests

Security forces in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district have unearthed a massive trove of cash and armaments from Maoist hideouts over the past couple of weeks. According to local police, the recoveries include more than Rs 65 lakh and a large inventory of weapons and explosive materials.

Since Chhattisgarh was declared free of armed insurgents in March, a collaborative effort between multiple security agencies has intensified. Personnel from district police, the District Reserve Guard, Special Task Force, CRPF, and CoBRA units conducted rigorous search operations in sensitive areas of Bijapur.

Superintendent of Police Jitendra Kumar Yadav highlighted that with assistance from local villagers and a robust intelligence network, three significant Maoist caches were identified and neutralized. Among the items found were 32 weapons, including a light machine gun and numerous rifles, as well as explosive materials and daily necessities. The series of operations have marked a significant step in dismantling the remnants of Maoist insurgency in the region.
