Chennithala Dismisses CPI(M) Allegations of Congress-BJP Raid Conspiracy

Ramesh Chennithala, Kerala's Home Minister, has refuted claims that the Enforcement Directorate's recent raids, including those at Pinarayi Vijayan's residences, were a coordinated effort between Congress and BJP. He suggested that the actual alliance was between CPI(M) and BJP, and that CPI(M) needs to clarify their past collaboration.

Chennithala also dismissed allegations that the raids were linked to a meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister V D Satheesan, explaining that such meetings are routine state affairs. He stated that Kerala's Home Department was not informed about the ED raids, which involved central forces.

The enforcement action involved 10 locations and targeted a private entity associated with a money laundering investigation involving Veena T, daughter of the former Chief Minister. The CPI(M) has denounced the raids as politically motivated, leading to protests across the state.
