Hostel Inmate's Eviction Delayed After Complaint Leads to Cooler Installation

A resident of a government-run girls' hostel in Maharashtra faced possible eviction shortly after raising complaints about inadequate cooling facilities. Initially, Akansha Ukey alerted Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, resulting in coolers being installed. She later received an eviction notice, citing her employment status as the reason.

The Social Welfare department, however, has temporarily halted her eviction following public backlash and an intervention by Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule. Although officials claim the hostel is meant exclusively for students, Ukey asserts she is engaged in an internship while studying for an MBA. An inquiry is ongoing to verify these claims.
