Sanjay Raut from Shiv Sena (UBT) highlighted Maharashtra's significant role in the NEET-UG 2026 examination paper leak on Thursday. He questioned whether state leader Devendra Fadnavis and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan would take responsibility for the academic jeopardy faced by thousands of students.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has detained 13 suspects in connection with the leak, most hailing from Maharashtra regions like Latur and Pune. Raut asserts the existence of a paper leak network rooted in these areas, demanding answers from the state and federal leaders.
Emphasizing the issue as a governance challenge, Raut stressed the importance of institutional integrity in managing competitive exams. He accused the BJP-led administrations of diverting public attention from inflation and other pressing economic issues while failing to address these educational security breaches.
Raut criticized the apparent ignorance of state mechanisms regarding the leak's development and urged comprehensive action from involved authorities to safeguard students' futures.
