Authorities in Jharkhand's Chatra district have detained two individuals suspected of narcotics trafficking following the seizure of opium. The arrests occurred after law enforcement conducted a raid in the Gothai village area, acting on reliable intelligence.
Simaria's Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Nagaragoje Shubham Bhausaheb, clarified that the raid recovered 1.1 kilograms of opium, estimated to be worth approximately Rs 6 lakh. An accompanying third person managed to escape the scene. Law enforcement has registered a case under the NDPS Act and continues efforts to locate the absconding suspect.
