The second and final day of the programme witnessed the participation of several senior leaders and officials associated with youth affairs and sports.
Among those present were Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Smt. Raksha Nikhil Khadse, Secretary, Department of Youth Affairs, Dr. Pallavi Jain Govil, Additional Secretary Shri Nitesh Kumar Mishra, MY Bharat Chief Executive Officer Dr. Priyanka Shukla, along with senior ministry officials and field-level functionaries from MY Bharat and NSS.
Their participation underscored the Government's commitment to strengthening youth-centric institutions and ensuring that policies and programmes effectively address the aspirations and challenges of India's young population.
MY Bharat and NSS: Two Pillars of Youth Development
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya emphasized the complementary roles played by MY Bharat and the National Service Scheme in shaping the country's youth development ecosystem.
He described the two organizations as twin pillars working toward a common national objective.
According to the Minister, while NSS primarily engages students and young people within educational institutions and campuses, MY Bharat focuses on connecting youth directly with community-based activities and field-level development initiatives.
Together, these institutions have the potential to create a powerful nationwide movement for nation-building by channeling the energy, creativity, and commitment of young Indians toward constructive social and developmental activities.
The Minister noted that closer coordination between the two platforms can significantly amplify their impact and expand opportunities for meaningful youth participation across the country.
Building Leaders for Viksit Bharat
A major theme of Dr. Mandaviya's address was leadership development at the grassroots level.
He highlighted that the feedback received during the Chintan Shivir reflected both the enthusiasm of participants and the growing maturity of India's youth engagement programmes.
The Minister stressed the importance of four key principles in achieving national development goals:
-
Self-awareness
-
Commitment
-
Innovation
-
Coordination
According to him, these qualities are essential for creating effective leaders capable of driving change within their communities.
He urged District Youth Officers and field-level functionaries to view themselves not merely as administrators but as leaders, mentors, and motivators who can inspire young people to actively participate in nation-building activities.
Strengthening Local Youth Networks
Dr. Mandaviya emphasized the importance of expanding and strengthening youth club networks at the local level.
He encouraged officials to build stronger partnerships with educational institutions, community organizations, local governments, and civil society groups to increase youth participation in developmental activities.
The Minister noted that strong local networks are critical for ensuring that government programmes reach the grassroots and create meaningful impact.
He also called for systematic documentation of successful initiatives and best practices so that innovative ideas can be replicated across districts and states.
Such knowledge-sharing mechanisms, he said, would help improve programme effectiveness while fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
From Discussion to Action
While acknowledging the value of dialogue and reflection, Dr. Mandaviya stressed that the ultimate success of the Chintan Shivir would depend on implementation.
He urged participants to translate the ideas, recommendations, and insights generated during the two-day programme into concrete actions at the district and community levels.
The Minister emphasized the importance of remaining connected with young people and understanding their evolving aspirations.
According to him, officers must adopt a solution-oriented mindset, remain accessible to youth, and work proactively to ensure that more young citizens become involved in MY Bharat initiatives.
By focusing on practical implementation and measurable outcomes, he said, youth development programmes can become more responsive, effective, and impactful.
