Alliance Shift: Dhinakaran's AMMK Exits NDA Amidst AIADMK Tensions

TTV Dhinakaran, AMMK chief, recently announced his party's exit from the National Democratic Alliance, criticizing AIADMK leader Edappadi K Palaniswami. The decision follows the AIADMK's alignment with BJP and reflects ongoing tensions within Tamil Nadu's political landscape. Dhinakaran attributes the AIADMK's previous electoral losses to internal disputes and leadership decisions.

In a significant political development, Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) chief TTV Dhinakaran has announced his party's withdrawal from the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), sparking fresh tensions with AIADMK leader Edappadi K Palaniswami.

Speaking to media personnel, Dhinakaran highlighted that the AMMK had been part of the NDA when AIADMK was not involved. However, following AIADMK's renewed alliance with the BJP earlier this year, the AMMK eventually decided to sever ties with the NDA.

Dhinakaran attributed the AIADMK's defeat in the 2021 Assembly election to former leader Edappadi K Palaniswami's political strategies, including the expulsion of key figures. This internal rift, Dhinakaran argued, played a role in AIADMK losing influence in at least 29 constituencies.
