Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday directed sharp criticism towards the Congress, accusing the party of repeatedly neglecting challenging development projects in the Northeast, causing significant setbacks for the region.
Speaking at a rally held in Itanagar's Indira Gandhi Park, following the unveiling of development projects valued at over Rs 5,100 crore, Modi emphasized the importance of direct involvement in the region. He asserted that the Northeast could not be effectively developed remotely from Delhi, which prompted frequent visits from ministers and officers, as well as his personal oversight with more than 70 visits.
The Prime Minister announced the implementation of next-generation GST reforms this festive season, aimed at reducing living costs and encouraging economic activity in the country. Additionally, Modi revealed that the funding for Arunachal Pradesh from the Centre has surged 16 times since the Congress era, reflecting a shift in priority to previously neglected areas.
