Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin has spoken out against the release of a special postage stamp and commemorative coin marking the centenary of the RSS. On Thursday, Stalin criticized the celebration of the organization, which he linked to the assassin of Mahatma Gandhi.
During a Gandhi jayanthi event, where he paid floral tributes to a portrait of Mahatma Gandhi, Stalin emphasized India's historical foundation as a secular nation, inspired by the late leader's philosophy. He described Gandhi as a source of strength against divisive forces.
Stalin's comments underscored disapproval of the Prime Minister's actions in releasing the commemorative items, urging Indians to unite against what he perceives as a celebration of communal ideologies. The Rs 100 coin being criticized depicts Bharata Mata and is intended to honor the RSS's history.
