Tej Pratap Yadav, once a Bihar minister and now at odds with his political family, called upon his brother Tejashwi Yadav to accord him the respect akin to that shared between the mythological figures Lord Rama and Laxman. Tej Pratap, expelled from the RJD by his father Lalu Prasad, has branched out with his own party, Jan Shakti Janata Dal.
Addressing claims of fielding rebel candidates while in the RJD, Tej Pratap retorted that Tejashwi, his younger sibling, should act with proper respect and not be misled by advisors he compared to Jaichand, a historical figure associated with betrayal. The tension underscores the sibling rivalry shadowing Bihar's political scene.
Tej Pratap announced his candidature for the Mahua constituency, stepping back into the electoral fray adjacent to Tejashwi's bastion, Raghopur. In broader political commentary, he criticized the RSS's centenary, denying its role in India's Independence and supporting Mahatma Gandhi's legacy. He also expressed his reverence for the Prophet amid ongoing controversies.
