Bridging Borders: The Role of Civil Society in Indo-Pak Relations

Dattatreya Hosabale, a prominent RSS leader, stressed the significance of people-to-people contacts in resolving the stalemate with Pakistan. Speaking to PTI, Hosabale conveyed that while political and military trust is waning, civil societies can pave the path to reconciliation through cultural ties.

The RSS general secretary highlighted that for enduring peace, both countries must not shut the doors for dialogue, advocating an open window for communication. Hosabale pointed out past diplomatic efforts have been ineffective, citing persistent terrorism issues like attacks in Pulwama.

He urged support for track-two diplomacy where academicians, sportspersons, and other civil society members play pivotal roles in repairing strained relationships. Hosabale believes these exchanges could reinforce historical connections and ultimately aid in conflict resolution between the two nations.
