Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Sweden on Sunday, marking a pivotal visit aimed at reinforcing bilateral ties across several critical areas including trade, technology, and defence. His arrival garnered significant attention, highlighted by a ceremonial escort from Swedish Air Force jets and a warm welcome from Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson.
The visit underscores a shared commitment to innovation and economic growth, with discussions set to explore opportunities in green transition, AI, and start-ups. The two leaders are determined to enhance trade connections, notably as bilateral trade is projected to reach USD 7.75 billion by 2025.
Both prime ministers will address the European Round Table for Industry, alongside European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. This marks Modi's ongoing European tour, already having resulted in agreements with the Netherlands and forthcoming visits to Norway and Italy.
