Unprecedented downpours have wreaked havoc across Rajasthan, leading to tragic incidents and disrupted connectivity. On Friday, a mini-truck was swept away in the flooded Parvati river in Dholpur district, with two people feared drowned. A labourer and a contractor were rescued at the incident near Ranoli culvert in Maniyan.

Authorities are conducting search operations for the missing driver and cleaner. In another incident, a young man died after falling into an open manhole in Bhiwadi area. The Nagaur district administration has closed National Highway-458 as a precaution after the Luni river overflowed, disrupting connections with Pali and Beawar.

Rajasthan recorded its highest rainfall in 69 years, with 285mm in July, and a yellow alert is in effect for moderate to heavy rainfall in several districts. The IMD forecasts above-normal August rainfall. To manage floodwaters, gates of the Parvati dam have been opened in several regions. The state continues to experience varied weather with heavy rain in parts and high temperatures in places like Jaisalmer.
