Maharashtra's Water Resources push gained momentum as Minister Ashish Shelar directed the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation to issue tenders for the long-awaited Gargai Dam project within two months.
During a review meeting at civic headquarters with Municipal Commissioner Bhushan Gagrani, Shelar emphasized the importance of securing necessary permissions for the project's advancement.
Designed to alleviate water shortages, the proposed dam in Palghar is expected to supply Mumbai with 440 million litres of water daily. Key approvals are underway, though forest department clearances remain pending, a concern Shelar addressed with Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav.
